The Pearl Islands, located in the Gulf of Panama about 30 miles off the Pacific coast of Panama, form a stunning archipelago of over 200 islands and islets, many of which remain untouched and uninhabited. Known for their natural beauty, these islands feature pristine white sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters, and lush tropical vegetation. This island gained international attention in 1979 when the Shah of Iran sought temporary refuge there during his exile.
